The DSR-1500 incorporates the same innovative, high-standard technology featured in the DSR-2000 in a compact, half-rack width design. The space-saving size makes the DSR-1500 ideal for installations such as in OB vehicles and with desktop editing systems. A key feature of the DSR-1500 is its playback compatibility with consumer DV (SP mode only) and DVCPRO 25 in addition to DVCAM, and its ability to automatically accommodate all cassette sizes without the need for an adapter or changing menu settings. The DSR-1500 is equipped with a wide range of standard analog outputs and functions not only as a feeder for an analog editing system, but also as a simple playback viewfinder. By configuring the unit from a full range of optional interface boards, the DSR-1500 can be equipped to meet a wide range of user requirements. A number of optional input and interface cards are available for the DSR-1500. The optional DSBK-1501 SDI/SDTI/AES/EBU Digital Video Audio Interface board ensures a smooth migration path to Digital Betacam, Betacam SX and other digital video systems. The optional DSBK-1503 i.LINK IEEE-1394 board enables deterioration-free quality transfer between the DSR-1500 and DV compression based systems. The simple i.LINK interface connection also offers an ideal solution for interfacing the DSR-1500 with DV I/O equipped non-linear editing systems. The DSBK-1504 Analog Input Interface board including component, composite and audio connections provides the bridge for existing analog systems and equipment, and also allows analog information to be transferred E-to-E via the standard DV i.LINK I/O connection. The DSR-1500 truly is the most versatile digital VTR for size, features and cost effective performance.
