The AJ-PX230 is a P2HD handheld camcorder with AVC-ULTRA recording and integrated microP2 card slots. In addition to the established AVC-Intra100 codec, the AJ-PX230 integrates AVC-LongG for extended recordings and the optional AVC-Intra200 codec for master recordings with a wide range of options. This handheld camcorder integrates two microP2 card slots with simultaneous recording functionality and a compact lens with multipurpose zoom of special design.

The AJ-PX230 encompasses recordings at both high and low bit rates thanks to inherent compatibility with the AVC-ULTRA codec family. The AVC-LongG25 codec allows quality recordings for expanded broadcast of 1920 x 1080, 10 bits and 4: 2: 2 (four times higher than the AVC-Intra100). The AJ-PX270 also supports DV, DVCPRO, DVCPRO50 as standard for SD recordings as well as DVCPRO HD, AVC-Intra 50, AVC-Intra 100, along with the new compression methods AVC-LongG12, G25 and G50 as standard for HD recordings . For even higher quality recordings, the AJ-PX230 supports the AVC-Intra 200 codec without visual loss, as an option for a compact, all-in-one master-quality handheld camera.

Superior image quality: high sensitivity and high quality sensor

Additional features of the camcorder include a compact newly designed 22x zoom lens, which covers a wide range of focal lengths, from 28mm to 616mm (equivalent to a 35mm camera). The three lens rings for camera, focus, and iris type zoom modes provide manual control similar to interchangeable lenses. The new 3MOS 1/3 low noise, high sensitivity sensors generate superior image quality, even in dim light conditions.

Super-economic operation

Two slots for microP2 cards allow cost-effective use. With the same reliability as P2 cards, microP2 can be used without an adapter for recording in continuous mode; When a card is full, the AJ-PX230 dynamically selects the second to continue with recording, or for simultaneous recording, when the same codec is recorded on both cards at the same time to create a backup copy. The microP2 card slots can be used with standard SD cards to further increase efficiency when recording * 3 codecs with 50 Mbps or less.
