La Focusrite Scarlett 18i8, an audio interface USB for Mac and PC, offers 8 balanced line inputs to connect synthesizers or other audio line level sources, and 4 balanced outputs mostly for monitoring. In addition, the Scarlett 18i8 includes 2 digital stereo inputs and outputs on S/PDIF format, and an ADAT input with 8 channels. Four of these entries are designed to run as a combined connector, which can be used to connect microphones. The four microhone preamps Scarle9 of highest quality include 48 V phantom power and (new in the third generation) the Air mode. Guitars and electric bass can be connected directly to these entries, the impedance will be automaticaly adjusted. In conclusion, an excellent interface and visually attractive with a reasonable price. In addition, Focusrite Hitmaker expansion will be attached to the interface. It is a huge pack of Software that allows a full production in one computer.
