The Softie Windscreen is easy to slide, with open cell foam, and integral hair cover. Softie will reduce wind noise, protect your microphone and is the worldwide standard on TV. It is available in a wide range of sizes to fit the most popular shotgun microphones.
Acoustic foam and synthetic fur are made from materials that are specifically designed and manufactured for that purpose. As a result, wind noise is reduced by up to 40 dB without any adverse effect on High-Frequency. Additionally, the foam is not susceptible to UV or moisture damage, giving this product great longevity in use.
The combination of advanced materials, adhesives and assembly techniques make Softie an extremely strong product that provides excellent wind protection in the harshest environments.
The Softie Windscreen is supplied in two varieties of pile length, classic and short pile. The short-haired Softie, known as the Softie Cam Mount, has a short trim of synthetic dark gray hair, offering a lower profile and more compact design without severely affecting the Softie’s efficiency. It can also be mounted close to the camera lens without causing unwanted shadows.
Suitable for shotgun microphones, with gaps no greater than 14 cm from the front of the microphone.
