Panasonic is pleased to announce a new LUMIX G VARIO 14-42mm / F3.5-5.6 II ASPH compact standard zoom lens. / MEGA OIS for LUMIX G based on the Micro Four Thirds system standard. LUMIX G VARIO 14-42 mm / F3.5-5.6 II ASPH. / MEGA OIS offers a versatile zoom range of 14-42mm (35mm camera equivalent: 28-84mm) suitable for a wide range of situations, from landscape to portrait. The lens system, consisting of 9 elements in 8 groups, adopts 2 aspherical lenses to achieve further reduction in size and weight, maintaining its high optical performance throughout the zoom range. The internal focusing system driven by a stepper motor ensures astonishing comfort to take full advantage of the high-speed contrast AF system and video recording.

Panasonic’s MEGA OIS (Optical Image Stabilizer) makes it easy to take super-clear shots even at the end of the TV or in low-light situations by eliminating blur caused by hand shaking.

With its minimum focusing distance of 0.2m (14-20mm) / 0.3m (21-42mm) even at full zoom, the new lens offers a maximum photographic magnification of 0.17x (35mm camera equivalent: 0.34x) . The 7 aperture blades consist of a circular aperture diaphragm and produce attractive smoothness in out of focus areas, even when shooting with a large aperture.
