Vintage Canon FD lenses with rehousing from TLS (True Lens Services) have become one of the most popular Full Frame lens sets today. The Canon Fd are sharp,
but with less contrast than modern optics. They exhibit a lot of Vintage character, with pretty orange and purple flares, as well as unique bokeh and focus fade. The Canon FD TLS have front diameters of 110mm to facilitate their use with accessories. Crystals from the 70’s are widely known for being really pretty. They are also sharp (similar to Zeiss Super Speed) with a creamy quality and a unique color palette. They have gorgeous purple and orange flares and excellent corner-to-corner sharpness. The secret is that Canon FD lenses are perfectly suited to modern cinematography, especially Full Frame cinematography. Most of the set consists of the older and more sought after SSC versions.
This is a complete set of optics from the 1970s, rehoused by TLS, with the same shells they use for housing the Canon K35. TLS is replacing the original 8 bladed iris with new 16 bladed iris, so their bokeh not only stays round when stopped down, but also helps make them look more like the Canon K35 Canon started making their popular line of Canon FD optics in 1971. These optics were manufactured to meet your popular demand for still photography optics. Over the years they were constantly improved. At a certain point, one could assume that they felt the construction of their optics was considered worthy for cinematographic applications, hence the introduction of the Canon K35s.
The FD lens mount was introduced in March 1971 with the Canon F-1 camera. It served as the mounting system for Canon SLR interchangeable lenses until the EOS system was introduced in 1987. This latter mount, with fewer changes, persisted until the release of the Canon T60 in 1990, which was the last camera made with the FD system.
